First Own Goal in a Word Cup Finals

France opened their account with a 18th minute goal courtesy well-directed freekick by Griezmann from the 30-yard mark which took a deflection of Mario Mandzukic to end in the far corner away from the reach of Danijel Subasic, resulting the first own-goal in a World Cup Finals.

The Croatian Comeback

However, Ivan Perisic levelled the scores in the 28th minute goal with a screamer way beyond the reach Hugo Lloris.

Second Half

Pogba Blast One Home

The Manchester United Man, Paul Pogba has his World Cup moment, when he hands France a good 2 goal cushion in the all-important World Cup Final. Mbappe’s break down on the right flank stretched Croatia’s defense. Griezmann crosses back to Pogba who has ran half the length of the field, with this first short blocked scoring a screamer on the rebound. France lead with a comfortable 2 goal cushion. 3-1

France Scores Another

The first teenager to score a goal in a World Cup final since the Legend Pele himself. Mbappe uses Vida to hide his shot from Subasic and fires one into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, with  Danijel having no chance to lay a hand on the ball. France Lead 4-1.

Croatia Sneak one in

Absolute shocker by Hugo Lloris in the 69th. Umtiti passes the ball back to Lloris, having plenty of time, Lloris takes two touches and attempts to beat Mandzukic, and Mario Mandzukic makes up for the 18th minute own-goal by netting on in an empty goal. France still leading with 4-2.

And the wait is over. France lifts the World Cup after 20 years with Didier Deschamps becoming the third manager to win the World Cup as a player and manager.
