I just turned 26. On my 26th birthday I decided I want to surf, mountain bike, and snowboard all in one day. It was a huge success. I grew up in Irvine, California. I went to Irvine High School, and subsequently graduated from the University of California, Irvine. I graduated with a degree in Environmental Analysis and Design and Criminology, Law and Society. During my college years, I spent a year abroad in New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji. It was a trip that ultimately shaped my life. I spend my days surfing, mountain biking, and snowboarding. I’m currently living in Newport Beach, CA, but I will be relocating in May to San Francisco, CA. Current Project: The Recess Ends I am filming a nationwide documentary about our current economic state. It is an unique and an exciting time; we are on the verge of making a difference and impacting our future in a huge way. I want to ask the question: What’s next? From January 24 to April 30, I will visit the major, most impoverished cities in the United States, from Los Angeles to New York. I will interview everyday Americans: rich, poor, black, white, etc. I will interview students, families, and single adults. In addition, a large portion of the story will be the voices of both small businesses and large corporations. Businesses are shutting down and laying off. Recently, Sharper Image shutdown all major operations; DHL is closing down all domestic operations; Citigroup laid off 53,000 jobs; Chrysler shutdown their plants for a month. And I got laid off on December 5th, 2008. I subsequently applied for unemployment for the first time on December 8th, 2008. We all share a common story– I am going to capture and share that story.
MY READERS BLOG POSTS:

When I got laid off from my job this past December, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. I had no money, no job, and nothing to tie me down. As soon as the new year turned, something inside me turned as well. I told my brother I wanted to drive through all fifty states and film a documentary of the stories and voices from the economy collapse.
