Hey, My name's Derek and I'm a Native American (Anishnaabe) from Ontario. Grew up on a first nation in southern Ontario with sports being a major aspect of my childhood and adolescent years. This part of my life naturally sparked a curiousity and affinity for learning what makes a great athlete, which lead to the study of psychology, nutrition, anatomy, biology etc.. I still have that affinity for learning and am currently enrolled at the local college, killing time thinking about what career I should choose. Hmm, interests... team sports like basketball, hockey and lacrosse. movies are great entertainment and can give excellent discussion topics. Plus, after being in a television "movie" and acting with professionals and seeing first-hand what goes on behind-the-scenes and the effort that goes into them from the entire crew and actors. it's much more easy to appreciate a good movie and acting. Along with sports I was able to travel to different locations across North America, such as British Columbia, Colarado, Florida, Manitoba. These places were all very interesting and fun, so travelling would definately be an interest of mine. Music music music, I love concerts. Actually, the Bonnaroo music festival held in tennessee had to be one my favourite experiences, I mean the people were interesting and fun, the different types of music not normally played on mainstream radio was refreshing, but most of all my comrades and I were able to get front row for the Pearl Jam and Metallica! When I'm not on the move reading is something i find very enjoyable whether it's adventure novels, poetry or magazines like Ode, Maxim :), Discover, Popular Mechanics, Psycholgy Today.
