I recently retired from the hot glass and pottery studio that my husband and I started in 1975. Happily, our daughter and son-in-law are now the 2nd generation owners, so I can still play in the clay and give workshops.
In 2000 my children and grandchildren created a 7 channel turf labyrinth for me on a lovely hilltop near my home. I began walking it regularly with as few expectations as possible, just to see what might happen to me. A few years later two of our grandsons spent the summer building a rock enclosed 7 channel labyrinth at Terra Studios, thttp://www.terrastudios.com. to see it. They said that they wanted visitors to Terra to experience walking a labyrinths, too, because it had made their grandmother happier.
Years ago, while walking the labyrinth, the phrase, "Be Grateful" came to my consciousness. I now try to practice being grateful everyday and have made many Gratitude sculptures, small and large.
I'm interested in projects and workshops that encourage creativity, a subject that I believe is most important to include in every curriculum.
