Bill Hinchberger is the founding editor of the award-winning online guide BrazilMax (http://www.BrazilMax.com) and host of BrazilMax Radio (http://www.brazilmax.com/brazilmax.cfm/id/17). A former correspondent in Brazil for The Financial Times and Business Week, Hinchberger contributes to publications like The Lancet, ARTnews, Metropolis and Nickelodeon and does contract writing for the Geneva-based World Economic Forum, the World Conservation Union, the World Wildlife Fund and others. He is an accomplished public speaker and teacher and gives “understanding Brazil” sessions to visiting European executives. He holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies and a B.A. in Political Science, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a former president of the São Paulo Foreign Press Club (1995-99) and a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) and the Brazilian Studies Association (BRASA). In 2007 he joined the panel of experts for National Geographic's Destination Stewardship Survey and the editorial board of Mercado Ético (Ethical Markets), a multimedia project about sustainable development in Brazil.
