I don't have a link yet. I was introduced to this magazine by a friend and I have to say that I am very excited about it. I am a woman, a writer, and a youngish almost 60. I'm also a perfomer with a life long commitment to social change born of the civil rights movement in the U.S.
I'm not sure what I want to place in a "profile." I don't do well with on-line pronouncements of who and what I am because people are too complex to put into "numbers of words" on a page. However, I just read a tribute to Anita Roddick and was moved to register so that I could comment.
I like things that speak to the heart, not just the intellect. I've been writing - personally and professionally - for over fifteen years and performing for over 20. I like grounded, spiritually minded people; I don't do well with bigots of any nature because people are too complex. Compassion and kindness are priorities and, as I grow older, I am less patient with boxed in absolutes. I believe that lasting, permanent social change (yeah, yeah, we also have to kick political behind on occasion) is primarily the result of heart by heart, person to person struggle. The rest is our dues for being here. Write on.
