A am a wife,caregiver, teacher,counselor writer, and grandmother My husband, his care (TBI survivor) and survival are my passion. I live on an island in the Northwest which is a paradise nine months out of the year. I adore my husband, albeit another person since the accident. I enjoy my garden, my writer's cottage my two dogs, three cats and a variety of wild things who trample and eat my flowers and fruit on a regular basis. My grown children are amazing, intelligent and compassionate human beings; my grandchildren are kind, and bright. My step kids are terrific and my ex-husband is a good man. I have fantastic friends and neighbors. Life is good but extremely challenging at this juncture of my life. I only look in the mirror when I leave my house because I am no longer happy with my body or looks. However I'm beginning to realize growing older can mean growing wiser with a beauty not measured by physical attributes. It's a tough one though but I am always reminded as I look at my husband each day how precious life is and how easily we can step into the other world. I am blessed.
