A third generation aviator, my family background is diverse and colorful, originating in Imperial Russia. My profession is Cannabis scholar, filmmaker and international agriculturist/activist. My interests include photography, illustration, flying, diving, and the lifelong study and documentation of the natural sciences. I wrote a paper entitled "The Fundamental Challenge of Our Time" adopted as the manifesto for the Cannabis College Amsterdam, in 1998. I founded the California Cannabis Ministry in 2007, when my son -- Rio Jade -- was born.
