I am Assistant Professor of Sociology & Criminology at Barry University in Miami, Fl. I am passionate about peace, justice and human rights. In addition to teaching, writing, and presenting on these topics, I am also a community activist. I started my own business, the Center for Living and Teaching Peace, in January 2008, formed the Broward County chapter of Amnesty International in fall 2008, and am on the Board of Directors for No More Tears, a non-profit that provides individualized assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children.
