For twenty plus years I have been involved in the creative and media arts. I believe that creativity is our essence. We are all creative beings and must exercise this part of ourselves every day in order to be truly alive. I also believe that our creative energy can only be regenerated by the inspirational and healing forces of the natural world. We have to find our wild places and immerse ourselves in their raw, native powers. I recently became the Executive Director of HATCH - an international non-profit whose mission is to mentor, inspire, educate and recognize the next generation of creative innovators. MY MESSAGES:

The inaugural HATCHfest has come to a close in Asheville and it was a resounding success. Feedback so far from attendees has been positive and moving. I've received scores of unsolicited emails from residents thanking HATCH for re-energizing their creative desires, for helping them remember what a "gurgling hub of creativity" their city really is, for encouraging them to "dust off" their sewing machines ... or their guitars ... or cameras ... and get back into expressing themselves. And most everyone was really excited about the fact that HATCH will be in Asheville for nine more years.

HATCHfest Asheville is fast approaching and we are adding new mentors, speakers, panelists, performers and events almost daily ... so I thought I would post some of the news here. Hope you check back frequently for updates!

We are excited to announce the addition of Design and Technology mentor Robb Pope to HATCH Asheville.

Robb Pope has been working the VJ circuit for the past 6 years, pushing the limits of visual experience at clubs, parties, and festivals across the US and abroad. As half of the VJ Duo Dijjital Ambiance, Robb has toured with Carl Cox and the Black Eyed Peas, mixed visuals on the main stage at Ultra Music Festival, and Global Gathering. Currently Robb's main focus is sculptural projection. It is time to bring video off the flat rectangular screen and onto the stage.
