I am a Taoist Jew living in the Appalachian mountains with my adopted family-my partner's family adopted into them, so I now have a family, complete with a Mom (in law), brother in law and his wife, niece, and several cats. I couldn't haven't made it without them-Jordan, my partner, literally saved my life. I was dying of hunger and not having medications for MS, RSD. seizures, and several other autoimmune disorders. I had money, just was to ill to figure out a way to get to it in a new environment when I was so ill and knew no one. Jordan nursed me as best she could until her mother got over the shock then found I was not this big bad butch, just a very sick little femme, and decided she liked me and devoted her time and considerable knowledge (she's a retired nurse) to getting me back on my feet. It worked, and that's the story of my family.
