I am a wise woman/crone/holistic nurse, raised in central PA, went to a one rm schoolhouse, thence to Penn State, raised a biol & an adopted child, have 4 grandboys from teen to infant, divorced from a good man dead now from effects of Vietnam. I have been a waitress, typist, SS teacher, SAH mom, Den mother, volunteer, New Age Spiritual Seeker, massage therapist & nurse. I have spent lots of time in 12 step meetings. I have talked to animals & walked on hot coals & I have learned to respect what I don't understand. I do my small scrap of effort to make a difference for the planet & the people on it. I teach & I care. I laugh & entertain for I have become aware that that is part of who I am & being who I am is what I am here to do. People say I am a "character". So be it. I have not retired yet. I must help with the new nurses in the hospital & teach the importance of "presence" at the bedside - not just tasks. I do some hospice work also. I do my reading & my birding. I tend my feeders & my garden. I go to my local University lifelong learning classes & my workout group. I will start on my memoirs next summer. And so it goes.
