Originally from Voluntown, Connecticut, I recently completed a 3-month Fellowship with Kiva.org, a leading online microfinance lending platform, and was placed in Sierra Leone, where I worked with Salone Microfinance Trust. Microfinance became an interest to me after reading about Dr. Yunus' work in Ode Magazine and has continued to fascinate me through my studies in financial planning. Prior to the Kiva Fellowship, I graduated with disctinction from the Masters of Science in Financial Planning program at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Science with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (GO BADGERS!). I have a background in financial services, with over five years of service with Fidelity Investments' Institutional Services division. At Fidelity, I was responsible for ensuring firm and associate compliance with various federal, state and industry rules and regulations. I am an active volunteer with the Fidelity Cares program and the Brain Tumor Society of Boston. Along with academics and travel, I am a sports enthusiast and avid musician, currently being trained in classical guitar.
