Annelise Kelly’s culinary adventures began with a childhood of steak tartare, fried codfish roe and escargot, and were highlighted by an interview with NPR’s Liane Hansen about her recent cooking gig in Martinique. In college she earned an English degree while working as a teaching assistant at a culinary store/cooking school, where she diced, stirred and cleaned up for such noted chefs and cookbook authors as Viana la Place, Hugh Carpenter, Fay Levy, Harriet Roth and Michael Roberts. Having cooked in a vegetarian restaurant in Copenhagen and having managed an organic pretzel bakery, Annelise is well acquainted with creating culinary delights. Travels in India, Nepal, Singapore, Indonesia, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean cemented her appreciation of the intersection of food and culture, and how cuisine reflects the people and places. Equally delighted by fare from street food to five-star, Annelise shares her cultural and culinary impressions through her articles, essays and reviews.
