I am a long-time student of Rudolf Steiner's Anthroposopy and other spiritual teachers and lately have been impressed and inspired by Eckhart Tolle. Both these great teachers are waking us up to the new consciousness that is emerging, beginning in this century.. I find that Ode magazine is contributing much to making us aware of the new challenges and opportunities arising for everyone of us.
After reading John Taylor Gatto's article on public education and his suggestions how teachers can help students who are forced to go to a public school: I agree with all his criticisms and with the few suggestions he has for teachers . However I cannot understand that he is not aware of the excellent Waldorf schools that exist all over the world, where children are taught to think for themselves, be creative and have reverence for life and the spirit. He only mentions home schooling . there are now many Waldorf Charter Schools that give the benefit of Waldorf education to children who cannot afford private tuition. Waldorf education
