Now nearer 60 than 50, I enjoy lots of travel, the last 25 years working in the social work/mental health fields, latterly assessing social workers' competence to practice, and am committed to social justice and environmental sustainability. Two years ago I stepped out of my career for good and am currently studying bass part-time at jazz school. I play in a blues band on a regular basis too.
Although I live in a country that promotes itself as 'Clean and Green', I can no longer drink the water from mountain streams for fear of giardia, and the countryside is littered with takeaway rubbish, bottles and cans. Don't get me wrong, its a great land and if you've not been here before, you should make the effort to visit and stay a while. I was born in England, but I know that this is where I wish to live, for now at least.
I'm an advocate of solar and wind/wave power sources, and strongly believe in the possibilities of the individualisation of power generation and contributing to the national grid, rather than the other way around.
