Hello, I am Ramesh Haridas Sampat. I was born (1944) in India. Since age 2, I grew up in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania (1946-1971), I had my education in Tanzania and England, travelled to many countries in Africa, quite a few in Europe and Asia, spent nine years -- the best years of my life -- (1971-1980) visiting hundreds of villages and cities and meeting thousands of people in India. Now, since 1980, I live in UK, USA and India and travel around the world. I am a businessman.
With my father's guidance and training, I have been helping poor people ever since I was a little boy (now I'm 64) and I have taught the same thing to my two daughters ever since they were little girls.
When Gujarat was devastated with a massive earthquake in January 2001, 30,000 people died and one million people became homeless, at that time I retired from my business and started doing charity work full time. I created a scheme (and presented it in video) in which people living in foreign countries could help the earthquake victims directly, one on one. Those giving help and those receiving it, would be in direct contact with one another.
My only passion is charity work. I have created these programs and I am personally involved in them.

My programs are global. Yet, it is a humble beginning. I am doing my part and I hope everyone who cares will do their part.
At Aatmajyot I produce audio CDs of mantra and hymn (in Hindi and Gujarati they are called Bhajan CDs). I give the income to feed and educate poor children in India. I do it through Mata Annapurna Ashram.
partners-in-karma.org We accept from the public old clothes, shoes, bedsheets, blankets, other personal items and send them to poor people in India and Tanzania. This is a very simple thing but its benefit is miraculous.
vadil.org We are a group pf vadils (seniors) of Indian origin who are actively involved in giving our experience, our time and effort and part of our material wealth in service of our society.
I do not know everything. I do not have all the answers. But I want to share with others what I know and seek from others what they know. I want to keep doing what I can and encourage others to do what they can. I strongly believe that as we move forward doing what we can, we will find more answers and new avenues will open up to take us where we want to go. Are you coming?

Hello Everyone, I am Ramesh Haridas Sampat, Founder of Partners in Karma.
I have been thinking about a very simple thing. What do we do with our clothes and shoes when they get worn out and we don’t want to wear them any more? Well, we throw them away, don’t we? Everyone has clothes, shoes and many other personal items that at some point we don’t want to use any more. What do people do with those things? Yes, they are just sitting there collecting dust and some day they all go to trash. Read more...
