I studied at the Loreto Convent, Delhi and then pursued my masters in Political Science from the Delhi University. Always attracted to media and with a passion for improving our social fabric by means of raising awareness of community issues as well as help provide better civic amenities to the public through developmental journalism, I specialised in English Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, ranked as number 1 among the country's Mass Communication institutes. Getting in wasn't a cakewalk surely! The entrance exam was only a stepping stone. After a gruelling round of group and panel discussions we were placed face-to-face an imposing jury who quizzed us on all aspects of current affairs, statistics, facts and data before announcing the results. But finally I emerged a winner. Ever since I've written for some of our leading dailies like the Hindustan Times and Times of India focussing more on developmental issues to highlight the stark need for basic amenities and civic infrastructure for our people here. Apart from that I've written on varied topics ranging from coverage of events and interviews of celebrities to academic and social issues, profiles, movie premiers, product launches as well as articles based on youth and current issues. Presently I'm busy writing for a magazine for the Senior Citizens called Harmony as well as focussing the spotlight on education related issues through the EducationWorld magazine (both have distribution all over India). We (my husband and I) also run an international, boarding school here from grades 5-12 and I have participated in a number of activities here as well; right from classroom teaching, hobby classes, publication of the annual magazine and monthly newsletters to looking after admissions, subject departments and general well-being of the students and teachers.
