Working with some amazing documentary filmmakers in China to bring beautiful, powerful images of everyday life in China to American audiences. Living Earth Television is a nonprofit based in the Chicao area, and we are helping to create the international village green, where neighbors get to know each other. I am an anthropologist who has worked with intercultural documentary film for many years, and am now devoting myself to creating ways to bring programs from local filmmakers in communities all over the world to a larger, international audience. Our first series will be on PBS stations in the US in of 2008 - eight documentaries from Chinese TV producers about ordinary life in their extraordinary country. I think that by getting to know each other as ordinary people across cultural boundaries, and sharing the solutions we have all discovered to our common challenges, we can create a more peaceful and sustainable world for all.
