Jeanne Belisle Lombardo is a writer, editor, poet and futurist. She is co-founder with her husband, Tom Lombardo, of the Center for Future Consciousness in Scottsdale Arizona. The Center applies a unique and powerful synthesis of contemporary psychology, philosophy, and science to educational programs designed to help individuals and organizations increase their understanding of the future and constructively approach its challenges and possibilities. As a key theme, the development of character virtues, such as wisdom, optimism, courage and self-responsibility, is tied to the enhancement of future consciousness, personal growth, the positive evolution of human society, and realizing purpose and meaning in the cosmos. Jeanne and Tom have presented nationally and internationally on topics such as: Evolving Future Consciousness; Ethical Character Development and Personal and Academic Excellence; The Future of Psychology and the Psychology of the Future; Ecology, Sustainability, and the Future; Globalization and the Future; Science Fiction as the Mythology of the Future; Consumerism and the Good Life; The Pursuit of Wisdom and the Future of Education; The Exploration and Colonization of Outer Space; The Evolution and Future Direction of Marriage; The Future of Science, Religion and Spirituality; and Utopian Visions and the Ideal Human Society. Jeanne is currently developing her ideas on the connection between the humanities and the future and writing a Masters thesis on the evolution of utopian thought. Along with Tom, Jeanne firmly believes that "The quality of the future will reflect the future quality of human beings."
