I was born and raised in Wisconsin but left when I was 18 and have been living in Seattle, WA ever since. I was in the Navy from the time I was 18 until 22. During my time served I visited countries such as Panama and Columbia that exposed me to a world and way of life I could have never imagined existing. Those experiences shaped my view of the world and elicited a thirst for justice and a compassion for my fellow man that are still burning brightly today. I recently welcomed my first child, a boy named Brett, into the world. This experience also changed my perspective in that it made me really think hard about what kind of world I want to leave behind for my son and what kind of example I want to set for him. Hopefully I can live up to not only the lofty ideals I hold for myself but more importantly the ones my son holds for me.
