As the father of three adult children, I am inspired to envision a better future. As the child of a kind father (my mother is deceased) I am inspired to see the past as giving us choices rather than locking us in. As for the present, I'm enjoying that; learning, volunteering and working. Currently, I am a healing bodyworker (licensed massage therapist) working in an integrative medicine program. I often work with people living with cancer and chronic pain. I also have degrees in law and public health, with a lot of experience with environmental health and policy issues as well as writing and advising nonprofits. In the 1980's and 1990's I was a national advocate for holistic health and recognition of indoor and outdoor toxic chemical problems and the rights of people to choose nontoxic environments. I am in the process of trying to get a book published. "Divine Primates: Hope for Our Stressed-Out Species" (http://www.divineprimates.com) is about human nature and how we can help heal our planet by dropping some of our illusions about our humans and developing greater awareness of our strengths and needs. You can read more about it at the Human Primates group here on Ode Online. It is certainly audacious to write about one's own species, so I could use help and support on this project to create a more sustainable culture. I presented at the 2007 World Future Society meeting in Minneapolis and will speak at their July 2008 conference in Washington, D.C. I have blogs at zaadz, http://www.divineprimate.zaadz.com/blog and www.divineprimates.blogspot.com, and my background is visible at http://www.linkedin.com/in/earon. I also have a website about my massage practice, etc. http://www.earondavis.com If you can read this, I guess I haven't exceeded the 3,000 character limit! WooooHooooo!
