This group is for people who have experience or interest in volunteering in their communities. We are here to share ideas on how we can change the world starting in our own backyard.


GROUP MESSAGES:

I'd like to hear how others are using their time to volunteer. I have a full time job and need to find a way to fit in some time to help out.

I find activities that I can either do quietly at home anytime I like, like write for a blog, help with web marketing, work on a newsletter.

Another option, which I really enjoy, is to find active outdoor volunteer activities for the weekends, when I want to be outside anyway.

Some examples of things I personally do are invasive plant removal with the local Sierra Club, building trails on newly acquired conservation lands with a local land trust, or working in a community garden.
