The first book that I read back in Germany is a book written by a journalist, a comedian, and a priest from the Cologne area. Without pointing the finger at its readers, it is a scrapbook of inspiring stories and links for people who want to make a difference in their community. How are people that are well known for their German Angst changing the world? Who are they? There is the visionary dentist in Darmstadt who provides free basic health care for homeless people with his organisation “The Health Angels.” www.die-gesundheitsengel.de The generation divide is getting bigger in Germany and the organisation “Living for help” in Cologne is bridging this gap by bringing senior citizens and students together. The senior citizens have a room to rent out and need help to run their households and the students can provide that help and need space to live: one m² equals one hour of help per month. www.wfh-koeln.de Failing in Germany, for instance with a business idea, can still create a stigma in society. “The Show of Failure” presents lectures of people who failed with a business idea, an unfinished novel or a painting career. “The Show of Failure” creates a positive platform to learn from failure that is needed in order to create innovation and personal development. www.show-des-scheiterns.de Business leaders change sides to get to know the daily business of social institutions and projects: in a homeless shelter, a drug clinic, or an asylum seekers’ home. www.seitenwechsel.com The book says that the authors had been inspired by a UK project. I am wondering whether that was www.wearewhatwedo.org ;-) Von wegen nix zu machen... By J. Becker, F. Meurer, M. Stankowski KiWi, ISBN: 3462037951 7.95 EUR |
