Ode celebrates women changing the world for International Women's Day

International Women's Day is just around the corner (March 8th). It's an international holiday celebrating the achievements of women in both social and political fields. Women like Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, Marie Curie, Susan B. Anthony and many others have changed the world for the better. Here is a selection of the many courageous women who have been featured in Ode who are still changing the world today:

  • Jaya Arunachalam manages the Working Women's Forum, an Indian organization for micro lending and women's rights.
  • Michelle Chan is an activist who helps banks adopt sustainable finance policies.
  • Runa Khan set up a floating clinic to reach flooded parts of Bangladesh.
  • Lornah Kiplagat holds the world record for women's half marathon and is founder of a school in Kenya.
  • Victoria Maizes is a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine.
  • Rosa Hilda Ramos is an environmental activist helping to clean up Puerto Rico.
