Sacred Global CosmoPop concerts, a 3-day festival

If you’ve never heard of Gabriel of Urantia - musician, author and spiritual leader - that’s because the powers that be have tried very hard to suppress his truth, environmental and social advocacy. He fights injustice through his books and music, and his words are powerful against greed and religious hypocrisy. You might say that he’s like the Spike Lee of music!

Gabriel of Urantia started singing on the street corners of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when he was 8 years old and was a professional nightclub entertainer at age 18, until a spiritual transformation happened to him at age 24. At that time he began to write spiritual music with commercial-sounding melodies.

He took this concept of putting words to New Age music to Hollywood in 1983, but being a pioneer, his vision was rejected by Windham Hill, which later signed many New Age Vocal artists. By that time, Gabriel was already performing his new concept music called “CosmoPop,” which has various versions of commercial music all mixed together: rock, jazz, folk, country and Celtic. With these styles, he always introduces mantras of some kind, which are meant to bring the listener to a higher spiritual level of consciousness.

Gabriel of Urantia’s lyrics deal with all of the things in life that we all go through - death, divorce, loneliness, suffering - and through it all, his songs end with hope and a strong faith in a Creator, that brings us through these hardships. Gabriel has recorded many albums and CDs since he was 19 years old but would not compromise his spiritual lyrics to get a record contract with any major label. Therefore, unfortunately, he receives very little radio airplay, with the exception of some university radio stations and progressive Internet radio shows, including his own: Global Change Radio.

Gabriel of Urantia’s latest CosmoPop CD is called Energy Master. He won an Aurora Award for his Sacred Global CosmoPop Concert DVD. He also wrote the music for the stage play and DVD called “The God Child Came” and has another genre called CosmoWorship, in which he has a 40-voice choir and orchestra with a CD.

For the last 20 years, Gabriel lived in Sedona, Arizona, where he founded Future Studios live performance hall and recording studio, at which he became known as Gabriel of Sedona and helped Sedona to become a music city. He branched out to do Sacred Global CosmoPop Concerts in sacred locations, one of which was Mount Shasta in California. Now he resides next to the Tumacácori Mission in southern Arizona, where he plans on doing two sacred concerts per year - also featuring other Global Change Music bands - beginning on June 19-21 and then October 23-25, 2009.

These festivals are by donation and have camping and food. Gabriel asks that if you use drugs, not to bring them on the land for the concert, which will be held at Avalon Organic Gardens Farm and Ranch, owned by Global Community Communications Alliance - the community he co-founded with Niánn Emerson Chase, a direct descendant of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Gabriel of Urantia asks people to make a vision quest to his concert, a pilgrimage to discover your life’s purpose and destiny and to find your cosmic family. He wants people to feel comfortable bringing the kids, and feel free to camp on the community’s land for the 3 days.
