Doing What You Love (That's Your J.O.B.)

It’s after 1 A.M. and I’ve been YouTubing again. It’s my late-night fix, along with Facebook and blogging. I’ve been using YouTube to research Positive Affirmations. In my quest I came across a great video by James Ray, who has been featured in The Secret, on Larry King Live, and on Oprah, talking about doing what you love.

What he says in the video reminds me of what I’ve heard in meditation and have been sharing with clients for a couple of years: “Do your J.O.B. - your Joyful, Outrageous, Bliss - and you will always get what you want.”

That may sound familiar to you. Similar ideas have been put forth by mythologist and writer Joseph Campbell, who coined the phrase ‘Follow Your Bliss,’ and by Marsha Sinetar in the book Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow: Discovering Your Right Livelihood.

I’ve been dedicated to those beliefs for many years. When my desire to do what I love took the shape of working for myself on a larger scale, I found my beliefs shaken to the core. As I made the transition to self-employment I sought ways to alleviate the fears I had about taking that step. For five months I worked on an affirmation that would help ground my thoughts and feelings and give me a powerful vision for my future. I wanted something expansive, something that felt good, that inspired me and encouraged me to make the changes I feared most, but knew were necessary. Following a three-day Millionaire Mind Intensive with T. Harv Eker, I sat on the subway, excitedly writing what turned out to be the statement that gave me an “Ah-ha!” moment. That affirmation has been my anchor for the past three years, and I have seen and felt the power of my chosen words in action as my higher self repeatedly asks me to let go of old patterns and habits that keep me from achieving my stated goal.

As we continue to look for ways to enhance our lives and to live more fully in each moment, we can always remember to stay focused on doing what brings us the most joy, the most abundant sense of self, the most inner (where it begins!) and outer fulfillment. When we find ourselves floundering, looking for something external to fill the void, we can ask, “What do I want?” Then we can use Positive Affirmations like the ones below to help bring about the transformation we desire.

Enjoy these affirmations. If you read them aloud and state the authors name you will give great power to the prayer.

“I am feeding my light. I shine, Washing away the darkness. My eyes are open and clear and reflective of my soul. Outcome, blame, shame, jealousy, and guilt are lifted and I see the lessons taught by fear and uncertainty. Love is here. I walk in beauty to the beat of the drum as a peaceful warrior, healer, visionary, lover, leader and example of feminine divinity. The balance of my internal vibrations are tender and calm, nurturing and kind. My heart speaks. I rise to the occasion of presenting myself to the world of divine purpose and a channel of healing on this earth with ease, grace and fluidity. I receive the wisdom needed to guide me and am eternally grateful. I bring heaven down to earth and co-create healing. Thank you, Universe, for holding me as your child to show me my plan, my gifts, your brilliance and the lesson that we are all connected in the flow of life. My name is Robin Marie Coley and I am here to love, help, understand, teach, embrace, enjoy and fulfill this journey of being my truth. Life is a beautiful process and I enjoy every minute of it. Yipppppeeeeeee. PEACE!”

“I am conscious that I am living my dream always, ever grateful for my creation and trusting that all is well. I live my life as though I cannot fail and I am having so much fun playing, dancing, creating... art in photos and writing... I live by the ocean in a warm, cozy house. My spirit is peaceful, excited, alive. I trust like a child. I am in awe of this magnificent planet and all the things there are to explore. I surrender to the divine plan and know that all is well.” - Bridget

“I know and recognize that there is only One Power, one Absolute Source, one Divine Spirit. I know and feel in my heart and soul that I am one with the Divine Spirit of All-That-Is. I realize that money and resources, prosperity and opulence are flowing to me in a powerful stream. I give thanks for the abundance that has already flowed to me as well as all that is flowing to me now and all that will flow to me in the future. It is done. It is so!” - Sheri at Telling A New Story

“Thank you!” - Holly

Have an abundantly peaceful and laughter-filled day!

Joe
