JobAngels.org: Help people find jobs
Forget about merely enduring hard times; Mark Stelzner decided to start an economic upturn, one job at a time, with JobAngles. Inspired by a twitter conversation among HR professionals interested in making a difference, Stelzner and some friends created a grassroots community of people invested in helping one individual get a job.
It could be a friend or family member. Or a complete stranger. The key point is that over 1,500 people - and counting - have pledged to help others find jobs. "When faced with hundreds of thousands of job losses," Selzner writes in an Inflexion Point blog post, "it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. But if the idea is for you to simply aid one person - a friend, a family member, a colleague or a complete stranger - that somehow not only seems possible, it seems probable."
Interested individuals can join the JobAngels community on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn.
