Coca Cola increases use of hybrid electric delivery vehicles in the U.S. and Canada

Coca Cola is the largest producer of bottled soda and beverages in the world, and is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable brands worldwide. They are estimated to own over half of the world's beverages.

Now, the Coca Cola company is setting an example for the industry by doubling the size of its hybrid electric deliver fleet to 327 green trucks on U.S. and Canadian roads. This means the company will be adding about 185 hybrid electric trucks. It will also be launching a new vehicle that is much larger than those in the current fleet.

This isn't the first time Coca Cola has set an example for its competitors, though. In 2001 they commenced development of its green fleet and began running the electric vehicles in 2007 with 20 hybrids. By the end of 2008 they had 142 vehicles in use in cities like Atlanta (where the city is headquartered), Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Toronto, etc...

The expansion plan will put the hybrid vehicles into other large cities including Seattle, Tampa, Portland, Las Vegas, and Montreal.

I don't care how many hybrid vehicles Coca Cola is using to upgrade their image - they are poisoning the country with there disgustingly unhealthy products.

I'm glad they're moving to hybrid vehicles. Maybe next they can work to make their plastic bottles bio-degradable.
