Street music moves the masses

After walking past street musicians outside subway stations and seeing the emotional impact they often have on even the most passive commuters, Mark Johnson decided to highlight this engaging form of music.

The Grammy winning filmmaker brought over 100 musicians from around the world together for a collaboration called "Playing for Change". The project has produced a cover of the song "Stand by me," and wants to get more people involved in the project

This truly is an awesome video. I first saw it on Bill Moyers' JOURNAL on PBS and it brought tears to my eyes. When he showed it again a few weeks later because it had generated so much mail, it still made me tearful. As a Christian, it is so moving to see how music connects so simply yet with complexity with so many diverse people all around the world!
