Cache in, trash out

Geocaching is the sport where you are the search engine. The goal of the "sport" or "game" is to use your own personal GPS device to locate hidden containers called geocaches outdoors and share your experiences with others online. This is a new activity for people of all age groups, "with a strong sense of community and support for the environemnt."

Geocashing.com encourages everyone involved in the project to share their experiences with each other and to be mindful of the environment. Their program, "Cache In Trash Out" holds annual events and smaller community events to educate geocahcers about the environment. They also always encourage geocahce searchers to bring trash bags with them when they go out hiking and searching.

"Even this small act can make a huge difference," their website says.
