Green Festivals in the United States

In 2007-2008, Co-Op America and Global Exchange are sponsoring four green festivals at cities across the United States. I have been to the Washington, DC festival for each of the past three years and it was one of my favorite events. There are speakers on many topics related to peace, conflict, corporate social responsibility, workshops on advocacy and other themes, and a chance to learn and connect with others.

The DC and San Francisco events are currently recruiting volunteers (locally based only) to help on the day of the festivals. If you volunteer you can also attend the event for free (and usually get a free T-Shirt). For More information see below:

Welcome to Green Festivals 2007-2008

At the Green Festivals, we're celebrating what's working in our communities, for people, for businesses and for the environment. Here, green means safe, healthy communities and strong, local economies. Green is the color of hope, of social and economic justice, of ecological balance.
