A charitable birthday
Eighteen is a big birthday for kids in the United Kingdom. Most kids enjoy hitting the pubs legally for the first time. However for his eighteenth birthday on October 1 of this year, Charlie McDonnell decided to go for an upper instead of a downer and raise money for cancer research.
Charlie asked people to donate money to the charity, Cancer Research UK. It helped that Charlie is somewhat famous on YouTube. His channel has over 92,000 subscribers. On the eve of his birthday, Charlie hosted a live show on the live-video blog website BlogTV for his friends and loyal YouTube fans.
He promised that if £3,000 or more was raised for the charity he would shave his head. Needless to say, Charlie's head will be a bit colder through this English winter with his new short hairstyle.
You can still give to the charity through Charlie'sbirthday donation site. He has raised over £4,781 so far.
