Can butterflies save the world?

I think butterflies can save the world. Butterflies and birds and insects and hummingbirds. See, I'm a real nature nerd. And I believe that the preservation of the future depends on people getting close enough to nature to allow it to restore their sense of wonder. If they see the really cool things, maybe then they'll want to protect them.

So I spend my time running into my yard and recording the little miracles that others find mundane. I write and every now and then I'll give a seminar.

Ooops, have to go! There's another hummingbird!

Thanks for sharing your video! What amazing things nature has to offer us if we slow down and take the time to open our eyes to them.

I used to have this spot in San Diego on the cliffs near the beach where I would go to clear my head. However, the more I went, the more I started to notice the little things going on around me. Each time I would go, there would be some new insect or animal I would run into. One day I noticed an ant crawl over me to I followed it as it took a tiny morsel back to its colony. Another day I had a staring competition with a humming bird and a lizard.

Thanks for the reminder that I should go out and do this more often!
