Organic skin care born from a healing journey toward wellness

Valérie Grandury's breast cancer diagnosis was the impetus for reinventing her life. Driven against the odds by a will to live, she created a battle-plan against her disease through a total detoxification of her environment. Valérie quit her job in the film business, moved out of the polluted Hollywood hills and into the serenity of Topanga, California.

She dedicated her time to studying the healing power of plants, started meditation and yoga, adopted a raw food diet and became a health and wellness coach in order to guide other cancer patients through their healing journey.

One day while reading about the campaign for safe cosmetics, Valérie discovered with shock something she had never suspected: the high toxicity of skin care, some being cocktails of dangerous known carcinogens!

Much to her astonishment, when she turned to organic skin care she discovered that the products did not have a manufacturing date and she wondered how the ingredients could retain any active properties after so many years in a jar.

Emboldened by her new philosophy of not cutting corners when it came to health, Valérie decided to start making her own fresh skin care. The underlying motto she applied to food: “it all lies in the freshness of the raw ingredients”, would apply to her skin care.

After years of creating unique organic blends for private clientele, a friend of hers convinced her to take it to the next level. They partnered and created Odacité in 2009. Odacité is the first organic skin care to be freshly made for each customer, stamped with the manufacturing date and immediately shipped to them from the lab. This way her clients can enjoy a product in which each ingredient remains 100% active, respecting the vital force of the plants.

Today, Valérie Grandury is celebrating 5 years of being cancer free. She is immensely grateful to be able to provide her organic skin care to a worldwide clientele that demands the highest standard in organic skin care along with rejuvenating and healing results.

Organic is great but I really like the idea of freshness. It makes so much sense...

I read a lot about toxicity in cosmetics in general and it is obvious that parabens and fragrance are really bad (particularly for my sensitive skin).

What about pheonoxyethanol? anyone has an idea?

Unfortunately Phenoxyethanol is authorized in organic skin care. It is extremely toxic and FDA issued a warning against in in 2008. Phenoxyethanol can depress the central nervous system and is classified as an irritant by the european union and Japan restricted it's use in cosmetics. Read the labels before trusting organic skin care.

Thanks for the advice :)

the problem is that it is hard to know what is bad for you. there are so many ingredients, I'm getting lost.

An easy rule to help, buy organic skin care and make it a safety rule to not buy something that contains ingredients you don’t recognize, you can’t pronounce or are followed by a number (except for Vitamin B).

Your products are so different from anything I have used before, they really work, WHY?

Making fresh products for you allows Odacité to offer a skin care with 0 toxicity as well as only what your skin needs to stay young and be healthy– all the essential vitamins, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and essential fatty acids. These ingredients are present in their most active available form since they are in their freshest natural state therefore truly bio-available and more easily absorbed by your skin.
