Yes, we’re supposed to eat our vegetables, but it’s not that easy to consume the USDA-recommended four and a half cups per day. Consider whole foods supplements, such as Organic Green SuperFood from Amazing Grass. Whole plants come with the entire array of micronutrients and enzymes that "have a role in how your body digests and processes foods and assimilates vitamins," Amazing Grass co-founder Brandon Bert says. The "superfood" mixture is made of dehydrated and powdered fruit and vegetables, along with cereal grasses. It includes a digestive enzyme blend and the energy-boosting herbs açaí and maca. Some people enjoy it mixed into a smoothie or a shake. But if you’re not a fan of the grassy flavor (Bert swears it’s an acquired taste), it works just as well in capsule form. One hit of Organic Green SuperFood (a tablespoon) is equal to about four servings of green leafy vegetables.
