The Readers Blog is a group blog, a collection of provocative, passionate people who represent a broad geographical, professional, personal and vocational range. New bloggers from other places and other points of view will join the conversation from time to time. Here, we invite them all to share their perspectives and opinions on the issues that matter to them most. And we invite you to respond. Let the dialogue begin!

Just for today

I will start my day with mindfulness. Renew my license to dream.

Refocus. I will not call my problem a problem. I will call it a challenge.

Turn on the shower and feel the water fingers touch the small of my back. Really feel it.

Grab a Frisbee and a friend and drive to the nearest park. Make the symbolic gesture of throwing my worries to the wind.

Look for my own high and not be afraid of pursuing it. If it is not challenging enough, drop it.

Listen only to my heart.

Look at the recurring patterns that have caused me pain in the past. Drop them immediately today.

Stop living my life for an audience.

Walk upright, with calm, dignity and joy.

In the midst of uncertainty keep determination in my thoughts.

Really taste my food. Chew it three times before swallowing it.

Set aside a time during day to just be. Spend sometime alone.

Smile at everyone. Breathe deeply.

Help someone with my time, rather than just money.

Discover my essential nature. Know who I really am.

Think about what I really want. Be brave enough to ask for it. Patient enough to wait for it.

Not be afraid to take chances. Reach for the stars.

Manufacture my own happiness. Live in the present.

Relinquish my need for external approval. Shed the burden of judgment.

Forgive someone who hurt me very badly. Ask forgiveness from someone whom I have hurt very badly.

Dream all over again. Do it all over again.

De-clutter my space, cupboard, mind and life.

Sit in the front row of life and participate.

When I make a mistake say, “How fascinating?”

Quiet the voice in my head.

Live in a radiating possibility.

Do my best and forget about the results.

Never explain. Just be who I am.

When I lose, not lose the lesson.

Smile when picking up the phone to let the caller hear it in my voice.

Be kind to my environment.

In a disagreement with a loved one, deal with the current situation only, without raking up the past.

Say, ‘Bless you’ when I hear someone sneeze.

Talk slowly, but think quickly.

When I say, I am sorry, look the person in the eye.

When I say, I love you, mean it.

Not let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

Be open to change, without renouncing my values. Step out of my comfort zone.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Don’t call or drop names.

Refuse to get into fights, arguments and defensiveness.

Believe in simplicity, silence, truth, effortless energy and transcendence.

Practice, practice, practice my craft. Aim for excellence, not perfection.

Send flowers, card or a book to someone. Send flowers to myself.

Wear something bright. Put on a happy face. Take on a positive attitude. Talk positive.

Drop automatic apology and self-recrimination.

Appreciate others. Appreciate myself.

Dance, stretch and move. Use my voice to sing, hum or chant and don’t worry about how I sound.

Not let others define me, direct my life and describe my reality.

Tell myself this: “ You are so much more than you can see. You are so much more than you think you are. You are so much more than you have heard about yourself.”

Look into my eyes in the mirror and say: “ I am hope. I am joy. I am free. I am happy. I am love. More important. I am me.”

Live life king size.

A good list to read every day to get all the negativity out from the previous day and the general past. The list is broad but gives depth and meaning to life,if one could only practice it reasonably faithfully. thank you for sharing.

Best wishes, Parvat.
