Inner peace on earth

The Sunday after the dawn of 2009, Beliefnet.com ran this wonderful gallery called Inner Peace on Earth. I loved the idea of the earth itself creating inner peace. I have often thought that the drastic weather phenomena we are experiencing all over the planet are Her attempts at reestablishing Her own balance, and what is balance but another name for inner peace?

Ruth Fishel is the marvelously inspired author of Peace in Our Hearts, Peace in the World: Meditations of Hope and Healing. On the eight screens of her gallery, she shares the affirmations below. Any one of them is a window into the magical house of peace within.

Consider using them one per day for a week plus one.

Today I am open to any opportunity I have to pass peace on to others.

I have all the willingness I need to let go of my judgments. I can feel my heart filling with peace and love as I practice acceptance.

It feels so good to know that I have an inner sanctuary where I can always go and find peace.

I am clearing out old confusion and doubt so that I can see the miracles today and participate in the recovery of the universe.

Today I am taking an honest look at how long I hold on to my upsets. I pray for the willingness to let go more quickly so I can have more peace and happiness in my life.

Today I am filled with enthusiasm and excitement as I spread the energy of peace out into the world!

It feels so good to know that I am connected spiritually today. This creates love and peace and compassion and joy in my life.

Today I release my control of outcomes and experience peace as I accept life on life’s terms.

Isn’t it always so that when we accept life on its terms, we help to create inner peace on earth?

Inner Peace is at the core of my focus and professional activities in the field of psychology and I also work with the power of affirmations. I find yours inspiring. Affirmations are a means for an induction of constancy. They are based on the understanding that wisdom resides within and align consciousness with our nature of wholeness. Affirmations can be spoken aloud, written down, done silently or even sung or chanted and in their rehearsal have a profound transformative value.

Hi Susan

I also work with affirmations like this in my leadership training programmes especially with young people. However, in order for me to teach and inspire others I have live these. Every morning after my physical and breathing exercises I reach out to the abundance of positive energy from the source up there, the earth below me and all the energy that surrounds me through other beings and trees. This helps me daily to deal with the trials and tribulations of living a land in conflict like Sri Lanka. Yes, there is a lot nastiness out there with the war, but there are also so many good things happening around us also which affirms the basic goodness of human nature. I have to reach into it first and then inspire others to find it too.

may there be more peace and love on this earth - lalith
