Peter Burwash
ODE to a Great Man…
Just wanted to start out with the statement that not all wealthy and famous people are uppity, overbearing and brash. A prime example of the opposite of these poor qualities is a dear friend of mine, Mr. Peter Burwash of Peter Burwash International, which is the top tennis firm in the world today. As they say “Like father like son” and in this case “Like President like company”.
Peter started Peter Burwash International in Hawaii in 1975. After much endeavor and great determination he opened PBI at the Kona Village Resort and the company has flourished and is now in over sixty 5-Star hotels and resorts thought the world and has taught tennis to over 3 million students.
Although a Canadian champion and Davis Cup star, a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame and recipient of many honorary awards for his tennis connection Peter is an emblem of humility and service. PBI has also carried that torch through out the world and has mirrored its founder’s qualities. In Peter’s words, “...I have come to the realization that the highest honor in life is to be of service to people, whatever shape that takes. So I do a lot of free programs and help out in whatever way I can.”
Peter has also become one of the most highly sought-after speakers for Fortune 500 companies today. His topics include: Developing a blueprint for Being an Outstanding Leader; The Common Denominators of Outstanding Service Companies; Improving the Landscape of Your Life Personally and Professionally; Your Health, Is anything more Important?; Dear Teenager (How to survive the Teen Age Years); and Integrity,(Without it You are Nothing). Traveling the world over he gives more than 100 speeches annually enchanting his audiences with his dynamic, entertaining and knowledge filled presentations. In addition to his talks he has written 10 books on these same fields.
In addition to Peter’s accomplishments and those of PBI his service influence has also spread within his family to his two daughters, Kim and Skyer Burwash. They have taken a trip each year since 2000 to India where they have aided and helped to fund the Food For Life Vrindaban program. They have built schools, donated clothes and supplies and provided food for thousands of India’s children. This charity agenda was started by Kim Burwash herself when she was only ten years old. Her father only assisted her.
The fruit doesn’t fall very far from the tree……Thanks.
